I won’t actually be back in the Gateway studio now until well into January 2013, so it was nice to have some good feedback during my last “live” show of the year last Monday and know that there are people listening who share my taste in music – and a few similar memories too ! BUT … fret ye not ! There are two special pre-recorded “Old Gits Soul Shows” due for broadcast on Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve ! The first one goes out at the usual time, 7-9pm, on Monday 24th December and should set you up nicely for the 1st Big Party Night Of The Year – it is called “The Dead Good Soul Show” and pays tribute to around 25 of the biggest names in soul music who have left us in recent years for that big soul gig in the sky. It is truly amazing how many household names you and I grew up with in the 70s & 80s who have passed on since 2000, but the music they all left behind is fabulous and will live on forever…
The second pre-recorded show will be aired on Monday 31st December, probably during the afternoon, so check back to our website schedule page nearer the time to find out exactly when and I will try and remember to update the blog again this time next week in between stuffing my face with mince pies & turkey with more details ! Have a very Merry & Soulful Xmas and look forward to invading your ears with more top tunes again soon … x
