Neil Gits Ready For Brazil !

I promised myself I wouldn’t get sucked into the World Cup this year, watching as many games live as humanly possibly and not missing a goal in the highlights shows – but two days in and I am hooked as usual ! It doesn’t help having a ten year old son just discovering the “fun” of following the tournament via his treasured Panini sticker album of course, but I guess it’s only once every four years so if you can’t beat the hype …

The particularly good thing about the competition this year is that it’s held in Brazil and some of the music coming through on the TV coverage has already inspired me to drop a few special tunes in the show over the next month or so. Sergio Mendes is included this week quite by accident, but next week I have deliberately lined up a very appropriate “Soul Soother” and will be playing something I heard a couple of times on ITV’s “Opening Ceremony” programme.
