Aside from playing soul music on the radio, my other big passion is following the fortunes of Billericay Town FC and I try to get to as many games, home and away, as possible. So when we got drawn away to Guernsey FC in the FA Trophy, and my diary was clear that weekend, it seemed rude not to drop everything and have a “Neil Mini Adventure” to the Channel Islands!
Not having a current passport or indeed any photo ID nor time to get some quickly, it was down to Weymouth to catch the ferry and although I suffered a touch of “queasiness” going across, I and the 40 or so Ricay fans that made the trip had a marvellous time on Friday & Saturday – including our winning 2-1!
