As our friends in the US go to the polls in this year’s Presidential Election I look back at the year 1972 when Richard Nixon for the Republicans, beat Democrat rival Senator George McGovern in a landslide victory.  I also play you some of the top tunes from the UK singles chart in the ‘Retro Rewind’.

And while on the subject of 1972, music composer Denis King pops in for a quick chat about the theme tune from the TV series that debuted that year – ‘The Adventures of Black Beauty’.
