Armed Forces Day this weekend

The Armed Forces Day Parade takes place in Basildon Town Centre on Saturday 26^th June 2021. It is an event that is being led by the Basildon Civil Military Partnership, with support from Basildon Borough Council.

The parade is part of the national Armed Forces Week and is one of many such parades happening on this day throughout the country. It is a chance to honour and give a boost to currently serving troops, their families, veterans and cadets.

Details are as follows:

• The parade will be made up of serving members of the Armed Forces, two Chelsea Pensioners, veterans and a small contingent of local sea cadets,
• The reviewing dignitary is the Mayor of Basildon, Cllr. David Dadds.
• Stephen Metcalfe MP, Mark Francois MP and the Rev. Tim Brampton will be invited to join the above parties during their inspection.
• The parade will be led by Squadron Leader Dave Bliss RAF
