Ballooning brits exercise excuses

The pandemic is nothing if not confusing. We’re encouraged to Eat Out to Help Out one week and told we’re living through a crisis of national obesity the next. And with those two factors combined, exercise has never been so important.

The sheer health benefits of going for a run, swim, cycle or other workout are incredible, not only for our physiques but also for our minds and overall happiness. In fact, we spend up to 40% of our gym time thinking of things happening in our lives and reflecting, not purely just working out… So why do us Brits make so many excuses for not going?!

New research commissioned by Intelligent Cycling, software that allows gyms and consumers to access simple personal training programmes, has found that at a time when exercise is so important, Brits really struggle to motivate themselves.

Aston spoke to Professor Greg Whyte, world renowned sports scientist to discuss why Brits make the excuses we do, and how easy it can be to overcome them.
