Curve Foundation: Miles over mind campaign

10th May 2021
Posted by Aston Avery

This May, Curve Foundation are very excited to launch Miles over Mind, an exciting campaign where they are asking members of the Curve Foundation community to join them in walking, running, cycling, or scooting 100k throughout the month of May as it is National Walking Month.

May is also Teenage ‘Self Esteem’ awareness month. in the UK, 79% of young people say how they look is very important to them, 52% worry about the way they look,  35% say they ‘often’ or ‘always’ worry about their body image (statistics from Beat, eating disorder charity.)  They are asking members of the Curve Foundation community to walk 100k in May to raise awareness of ‘Self Esteem’ in children and young people as well as raise sponsorship for Curve Foundation.  As you know, fundraising has been incredibly difficult during the past year with the Covid-19 pandemic, so any monies raised in sponsorship would be gratefully received.

Aston spoke to Emily Hawkes from Curve Foundation to discuss the campaign in further detail.
