Are you a passionate gardener? Do you enjoy nothing more than tending to your plants, shrubs or vegetables? If so, St. Luke’s Hospice has the perfect competition for you.

To support their ongoing fundraising, local charity St. Luke’s Hospice in Basildon has today (Monday 1 June) launched ‘St. Luke’s Virtual Flower Show’ – a photographic competition to showcase your garden, with online voting via the charity’s Facebook page.

Online registration is open from 1st June to 30th June and entrants will need to pay a £10 registration fee.

The competition features five photographic categories:

  • Indoors and windowsills
  • Pots and patios
  • Flower beds
  • Woodlands or wildflowers
  • Fruit or vegetable patch

Voting will take place from Saturday 4 July until Thursday 9 July – a total of 6 days – where Facebook users will ‘like’ their favourite garden pictures.

The picture with the most likes in each category will be named the winner.

All 5 category winners will be announced on Friday 10 July and receive a bespoke ‘Pearl of St. Luke’s’ rose, cultivated alongside Peter Beale’s roses, sponsored by West and Coe and supported by local support group Stepping Forward.
