Basildon Round Table scheme to help the local community

15th April 2020

The Basildon Round Table have introduced a scheme to help local community organisations, who cannot operate as normal owing to COVID.

Any organisation which serves the needs of the community in Basildon, Pitsea, Wickford and Billericay can apply.

The Roundtable is able to offer such groups/organisations a grant of up to £500 to allow them to operate in these uncertain times. Here’s a statement from their Chair, George Petty, to sum up the scheme:

“If you’re local to the Basildon area and your charity/group could utilise a grant of up to £500, please apply. The usual funding restrictions apply ie this must be local Basildon activity and we will not pay for certain things (e.g. alcohol, holidays). Please note that this funding is for organisations and should be related to the societal response to the COVID19 pandemic – individuals cannot apply.”

Johnny spoke to George Petty, the chair of Basildon Round Table:

All cases will be looked at by the committee on a weekly basis and funding allocated accordingly.

They aim to run the scheme for the duration of the pandemic in a bid to serve their purpose (to give back to the local communities) as best as possible, in this most testing time for everyone.

Any group wishing to utilise this grant needs to: fill out the form on their website at www.basildonroundtable.com under the COVID-19 fund tab.
