Brits still choosing to drink at home rather than brave pubs

Before the pandemic, the average Brit spent over £70 on a single night out, with 60% of us going out at least once a week. The closure of pubs, bars and restaurants has meant many of us have saved money by stocking up on our favourite drinks at home instead. Alcohol sales in March 2020 were 22% higher than in March 2019.

When the UK went into lockdown, Many Brits attempted to recreate their favourite amenities in their own homes. With people across the UK hosting household pub-nights, many learnt the art of cocktail making. This saw the likes of online stores like EliteDrinks.com assisting during the pandemic to deliver beverages directly to consumers doors. 

Johnny spoke to Georgia Reid from Elite Drinks, who also offered some reaction to the Chancellor’s latest financial measures:
