Care home specialist comments on coronavirus and social care

New research, by dementia care specialists Vida Healthcare, shows that around 76% of people across the UK do not think it is safe to put a family member in care since the COVID-19 pandemic. 

When it comes to the future of the care industry, stricter hygiene guidelines (65%), more staff (54%) and quicker access to medical supplies and assistance during health emergencies (56%) are the main priorities people would like to see introduced.

Just under half (45%) would also like to see better technology rolled out across residential care to enable families to stay connected virtually, with 46% of consumers worried about the pressure of visiting family members within care homes as we ease out of lockdown.
