The power of the pandemic has proven how problematic it can be time and time again, causing disruptions, delays and despair across a variety of sectors.

Though, new research from Worcester Bosch has shown that almost a third of boilers were due checks but lockdown has delayed this. Having boiler systems regularly serviced is an important and necessary procedure that every household should make a priority.

Due to the pandemic, lockdown and restrictions on people entering houses, a staggering 24% have admitted that they didn’t know that their boilers had to be checked within the last 12 months. Additionally the research has shown that 1 in 5 of those renting have said they are unaware if their landlord has had the boiler checked and this is a legal requirement!

With next week being Gas Safety Week, a week designed to raise awareness of gas safety, now more than ever is the time to ensure that our boilers are serviced and keeping us all safe as we head towards the colder months.

Aston spoke to Martyn Bridges, director at Worcester Bosch to help raise awareness of the week, and give guidance to the nation on how to make sure their homes are a safe and running efficiently.
