Listen: Brits sign docs on dates

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rip up the rule book for how and where work gets done, people across the UK are adopting new ways of signing and managing contracts. 79% of Brits have signed those contracts electronically over the last 12 months—and only 18% have used a pen and paper.

The research was commissioned by DocuSign and looked at the surprising ways and places people came to an agreement. In response to the sudden shift to working from almost anywhere, 22% of respondents said they had sealed a deal while watching TV, 12% in bed and remarkably, 6% on the loo.

Reflecting the more flexible ways we approach work now, people in the UK opted for comfortable clothing when making their agreements: 44% wore casual wear, such as jeans and a t-shirt, and 22% said they had signed an agreement in their pyjamas or sportswear (15%).

Aston spoke to Matthew Gibbons, Vice President at DocuSign to discuss the findings in further detail.
