Listen: Dr Sarah Jarvis on home cleanliness

We might have got to grips with Covid cleanliness, but when it comes to basic hygiene around the house it seems we have a long way to go.

We are often forgetting to regularly clean surfaces and items that are touched multiple times each day, one of the most common ways for bacteria to enter our homes.

Research by Microban 24 shows that Brits spend 90 minutes cleaning their homes each week.  But it seems we aren’t cleaning the high-touch surfaces that are handled by the whole household as effectively as we should – for example, one in three people (29%), don’t regularly clean their door handles; and a tenth of those questioned admitted wiping down the toilet and flush is not part of their cleaning routine.

Aston spoke to Dr Sarah Jarvis about how to keep our homes clean and reveals where bacteria’s are likely to be found in our homes.
