Listen: parenting advisor Sue Atkins on how safe our children are

The dramatic rise in children’s screen time during the pandemic has increased parent’s concern about the adult content they’re exposed to.

Research published today found 7 out of 10 (72%) children under 16 years old have experienced adult material and parents say they now feel under pressure to have ‘the talk’ about sex much sooner than planned (67%).

The research by AVG revealed parents are taking additional measures to protect their children, this includes setting parental controls on every device they use, tracking their search history and only allowing online usage in communal areas of the home, such as the kitchen or living room.

Aston spoke to Sue Atkins, parenting advisor on ITV’s This Morning and Pete Turner, consumer security expert at AVG to discuss the findings in further detail.
