The Christmas party 2020 & showing appreciation to staff

That time of year is here again – the annual Christmas party. Some dread it and some love it – but either way it is a route for bosses to reward hard work throughout the year.

As with all things 2020, the Christmas party has been impacted by COVID with many of them called off and some even going online.

HR firm, Citation, believes that the lack of a Christmas party this could have an impact on employee motivation and is offering tips and advice on how businesses can still show appreciation during the season.

Aston spoke to Gillian McAteer, head of employment at Citation to find out whether or not you should spend time on a Zoom Christmas party or not, what to (and not) do on a Zoom party and how companies can show appreciation of their staff during the festive season.
