The impact of Covid-19 has been monumental for everyone, and animal rescue centres continue to fall under real pressure as they do their best to ensure that abandoned pets are given a second chance of happiness, stressed by a fall in charitable donations.

The fact that most fundraising activities rescue centres do to support themselves financially has had to stop as a result of Covid-19 restrictions, many are seeing a 50% reduction in revenues since the start of the pandemic and are being forced to use their ‘rainy day’ funds for survival.

Pets At Home has supported pet charities since the first lockdown last March by donating £2.75m in grants to rescue centres up and down the country, to help them look after the animals in their care.

Aston spoke to Amy Angus from Support Adoption For Pets to discuss the importance of rehoming centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK and the difference these donations will make.
