Car parking enforcement changes across the borough

People working from home during the current phase of lockdown can still apply for the work from home permit for residential parking.

The South Essex Parking Partnership (SEPP) will continue enforcement across the borough during the current phase of lockdown. However, there will be less emphasis in the residential parking zones and the one hour yellow line restrictions in residential areas unless significant issues are reported.

The work from home permit is still available for residents who need to work from home or have been furloughed and have a single yellow line outside their house.

Residents in the permit zones are still required to display valid resident permits during this period.

Chair of the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee Councillor David Harrison said:

“I would encourage residents who are furloughed or working from home to apply for the correct permit.

“Patrols will be increased in high profile areas where regular complaints are received such as schools, abuse of blue badge spaces, cycle lanes and double yellow lines.

“Discretion will be exercised for food and delivery services that will be assisting businesses during this difficult time.

Please park sensibly, legally and stay safe during lockdown.”
