Proposals are being brought forward to transform the Eastgate Centre and surrounding areas by the specialist development manager Sovereign Centros and award winning architects and urban designers Leslie Jones Architecture.
The project, called the Eastgate Quarter, says it is being designed with the communities of Basildon at its heart, and the opinions of local people are crucially important.
The planners want to work with those who live, work and spend time in the town so that they can develop something that can last long into the future and that the people of Basildon can be proud of.
This website displays the proposals. Although these are outline planning proposals, the planning journey with the local community is beginning now.
Graeme Jones, from Sovereign Centros, commented:
“We encourage the local community and residents of Basildon to take part in this virtual consultation to share their views on our proposals for the reinvigoration of the Eastgate Centre. We are wholly committed to delivering a scheme that the community has helped to shape and look forward to hearing their views.
“This is the start of an extensive planning process and we will continue to work with Basildon Council to ensure that our vision meets their needs for the future of Basildon”.
The virtual consultation is now live and will run until Friday 14 August, on www.eastgateconsultation.co.uk.
