Autism show – July 2020

All Things Autism In Essex with Aston Avery returned with a wide range guests which involved this time within the performing arts section.

Aston and Anna spoke about how the lockdown has impacted Anna’s charity Anna Kennedy Online and also what they’ve done during lockdown.

Joining Aston and Anna Kennedy OBE on the programme were:

Maggie Paterson, Principal of the well renowned Pineapple Performing Arts School in London and she spoke about the different classes that Pineapple have been running during lockdown, which include different workshops.

Phil Barnett, founder of theatre group Kidz R’us and he spoke about how lockdown has affected his theatre group and also how he has coped during the pandemic.

Ethan Khumalo from Southend, a performer from Autism’s Got Talent and has recently been announced as new ambassador for Anna Kennedy Online, he spoke about how he first met Anna and what he aims to do in his role as ambassador:

Anna said this after the show:

“It was so good to be back in the Gateway studio today talking ‘All things Autism in Essex’. Both Aston and I were excited to speak to our friends Maggie Paterson, Philip Barnett and my new Charity Ambassador Ethan Khumalo.

“All 3 of our guests shared how they are coping in Lockdown and talking about the new normal. I updated our listeners on how the charity AnnaKennedyOnline is thinking out of the box providing support to the autism community.

“All our events such as Autism’s got Talent and The Autism Hero Awards are now being held in 2021. We were both excited to share Leanne Louise’s new single one of our past guest from Gateway 97.8. Leanne and MS Pink single ‘Let it Rain’ sales will be donated to.our charity which is greatly appreciated. The single rocketed up the dance charts in the first 2 days to number 21 Congratulations girls!! 

“Aston and I will be together again in August raising further Autism awareness and acceptance. Keep strong and keep safe”
