Almost a quarter (22%) of UK couples who got together in the last 12 to 18 months fast-tracked typical relationship milestones because of lockdown. 1 in 5 (19%) of these ‘turbo couples’say they’ve shared spending more quickly, according to research by money management app HyperJar and popular consumer site moneymagpie.com.

The survey findings show that among these couples:

  • 21% moved in together faster as a result of lockdown
  • 17% got a dog or cat together faster
  • 14% started or started to plan for a family faster
  • 11% decided to get married sooner
  • 9% got engaged faster

The survey results are announced as HyperJar and MoneyMagpie.com launch a new, FREE, eBook titled ‘Boom Bang A Bang – The Indispensable Guide to Finances for Turbo Couples’.

Aston spoke to Annie Thorpe, MoneyMagpie editor to discuss the findings in further detail and also about the new free eBook.
