Brits fed up of being pressured to diet

But research published today by Second Nature reveals we’re tired of hearing about diets and feeling pressured to start one. One in three say it harms people’s mental health and sets a bad example to younger generations.

Brits are defiant saying they’d rather give up social media, dating or watching sport rather than tackling their weight. Fad diets are out too – one in five (17%) say they’ll never go on one again.

Kids being bullied, comments from friends and family and just ‘how I feel when I look in the mirror’ are just some of the reasons given for feeling under pressure to lose weight.

Aston spoke to Dr Rupy Aujla, BBC’s Good Food chef to discuss the research in further detail.
