Singer Jamelia on new homelessness campaign this Christmas

Christmas is going to feel very different this year, but with the news of up to three households permitted to mix over the five-day festive period, hopefully it will retain a small sense of normality.

But for homeless and vulnerable people – struggling to stay warm, sheltered, and fed – Christmas will just be another day, unaffected by coronavirus concessions.

Not all hope is lost, however, as 72% of us have learnt to be more appreciative of the lives we lead and comforts we enjoy this past year, prompting 55% to want to do more to help, according to new research from Just Eat.

To utilise this willingness to do good and build on the immense sense of community and togetherness which has been so heart-warming this year, a new campaign launches today.

Aston spoke to Jamelia, singer and TV presenter and Josh Littlejohn MBE, founder of Social Bite to discuss this initiative further, share how we can get involved to support the homeless community over the Christmas period and about the importance of why we need to support the homeless community at this time.
