New research released by Well Pharmacy marked the launch of a nationwide campaign to tackle loneliness, with teachers and parents being asked to share children’s messages of hope with the elderly.

The research, by Well Pharmacy, reveals that 78% of children would like to do more help lonely people. The ‘Message of Hope’ campaign, led by the UK’s largest pharmacy chain, Well Pharmacy and backed by former Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya will see letters and pictures written by children put into NHS prescription bags and distributed to elderly people across the UK, many of whom have been shielding for much of the past year.

The campaign runs from the 5th – 18th of March, during which time teachers and parents are being encouraged to share the messages of hope on social media using the hashtag #messageofhope.

Aston spoke to Radzi Chinyanganya, TV presenter (former Blue Peter presenter) to discuss the Message of Hope campaign in further detail.
