£500K revamp for Cliffs Pavilion

The Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff will be closed until September 2nd, as it undergoes the latest stage of its revamp.  Having already had new stage lighting, the next step is replacing its 22 year old air conditioning, which has been struggling to cope after years of being exposed to the sea air.  There have been problems with stifling heat on hot days,  leading to some members of staff walking out during a performance by Ken Dodd last year.

The total cost of the revamp totals £500K.
