Basildon votes big for the Brexit Party

The results of the European parliamentary elections were announced on Sunday night, showing that many Basildon residents support the newly founded: Brexit Party, led by Nigel Farage.

The Brexit Party had over 15,000 more votes than any other party:

  • Change UK: 1,257
  • Conservative & Unionist Party: 3,975
  • English Democrats: 286
  • Green Party: 3,424
  • Labour: 3,807
  • Liberal Democrats: 5,536
  • The Brexit Party: 20,843
  • UKIP: 2,052
  • Csordas Attila (IND): 73

Basildon Turnout was 30.86%, which is slightly lower than the last EU elections in 2014.

  • Richard Tice (Brexit)
  • Michael Heaver (Brexit)
  • June Mummery (Brexit)
  • Barbara Gibson (Liberal Democrat)
  • Lucy Nethsingha (Liberal Democrat)
  • Catherine Rowett (Green)
  • Geoffery Van Orden (Conservative)

Regional turnout: 36.48%
