Following the ★★★★★ success of Cinderella 2023-4, the Towngate Theatre in Basildon are back this
festive season with the magical, mystical, fairytale adventure – Jack and the Beanstalk!

Audience favourites, Sophie Ladds and Ian Hallard, will be back for more panto fun as the villainous Fleshcreep and lovable Dame Trott. This will be Sophie’s 17th year performing in the Towngate’s pantomimes, and Ian’s 4th year as their fabulous Dame. Joining Sophie and Ian will be Aidan Banyard as Jack Trott, Alice Hoult as Jess, Sophia Ragavelas as Fairy Sugarsnap and Ashley Cavender as Billy.

Acclaimed Musical Director, Matthew Reeve will also be returning later this year, along with many of the Creative Team behind last year’s 5-star panto production, Cinderella.

The Towngate’s award-winning, critically-acclaimed pantomimes are the jewel in the crown of Essex. They are the proud winners of multiple Great British Pantomime Awards over the past few years – including two Best Villain nominations for Sophie Ladds for her multi-talented performances.

Their breathtaking pantomime productions are renowned for their stunning scenery, colourful costumes, dazzling dancers and a fantastic live band at every performance. Each show is a non-stop, musical spectacular that is not to be missed!

Working alongside the five-star award-winning team at Evolution Productions, the Towngate’s fabulous family panto for 2024 promises to be a GIANT of a show with all the fun, mayhem and magic that audiences have come to expect from a Towngate pantomime.
