Around 180 people came to the War Time Charity Tribute Night at Corringham Village Hall, on Friday last.

The show was organised by 21 year old Steven Fisher, Detachment Commander of the Stanford-Le-Hope Army Cadets in order to raise funds for both the Royal British Legion and ABF-The Soldiers Charity.

The evening’s stage show featured Peter Wayre, withsongs mainly from the 1940’s and the D-Day Darlings, Louise, Emily, and Stacey who sang a mixture of War Time songs, including those made famous by the Andrews Sisters.

On Saturday 31st May, Steven and members of the Stanford-Le-Hope Army Cadets detachment ran a ‘bag packing’ fund raiser at Tesco’s, Langdon Hills, which was also for the two Charities.

The combined events raised over £1,600 for the two Charities.
