Canvey Carnival

Canvey Carnival is back on Saturday 7th July, and Gateway 97.8 will be there for it. The organisers are hoping to take the procession through the centre of Canvey Island and end it near the seafront, where a summer fun day will be taking place.

The Route:

The Route will take the parade from Thorney Bay at 12 noon and follow north up Craven Avenue, turning right into Long Road where the procession will continue to The Haystack. It will then turn left into Furtherwick Road, and continue round the one way system, and then back round to The Haystack, where it will move south in Furtherwick Road, following the route along Western Esplanade, and back into Thorney Bay, where vehicles can park up and walk to the Festival.

This is what Canvey Island Carnival Association had to say:

“How exciting, here we are with the return of the Canvey Island Carnival Parade again. This year is extra special as we are holding a Festival with a fantastic array of entertainment and stalls.

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us last year through sponsorship, fundraising and the giving up of their time. Our mission was to bring back to Canvey Island a fun and exciting carnival procession and to provide a great day’s entertainment for all its residents and visitors and not forgetting raising much needed funds for local groups and organisations on Canvey Island.

The Carnival Parade offers everyone the chance to be part of the procession and to showcase their talents. All of us on the committee want to thank you for supporting us and hope you have a very enjoyable day.”
