Factory units on fire in Basildon

Fire crews were called to a range of factory units on fire at Burnt Mills Road, Basildon, just after 9pm on Friday evening. Thirteen vehicles were involved in the blaze at the units which are used for vehicle repairs and storage.

Fire crews from Basildon, Billericay and Rayleigh Weir, and Incident Command Unit wore breathing apparatus, and used two jets and one hose reel to tackle the fire, which was extinguished by 11:20pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service and the Police will carry out an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
