Police are appealing for information following a burglary on Canvey Island.

The break-in happened when thieves smashed the lock off a garage on Hannett Road between 7-8pm on Thursday, November 22 and stole four motorcycles.

Investigating Officer, PC Claire Chambers, said: “These thieves have actually gained access to the garage by moving a white Ford Transit van that is parked in front of it as a security tactic. They broke into the van by smashing its windows and moved it back so that they could enter the garage. We’re appealing for witnesses to the burglary, but also for anyone who has seen them on show or on sale since last weekend.”

The Honda CRF150 is black-and-white and has an inscription on the cylinder head stating ‘EATON 08’. The Honda KTM SX50 is black-and-orange. The Honda CRF250 is red. The Yamaha YZ125 is blue-and-white and has blue wheel rims. All four machines are worth an estimated £10,000.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact investigating officers at Rayleigh police station on 101.
