Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

The much anticipated Mamma Mia! sequel is now out, featuring a brilliant selection of classic ABBA tracks.

We all loved the first film when it was released 10 years ago, so it was a gamble producing the second. The gamble paid off… I think!

The cast included all of the stars from the first film, with some new additions too. Legendary American singer, Cher, also featured in the film. She played the mother of Donna (Meryl Streep), who made an appearance towards the end of the film.

The main character, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), follows in her mother’s footsteps throughout the film. The transitions between flashbacks and current day are produced in a clever way, as to not confuse the viewer.

Tom, Bill and Harry  feature heavily in the film, with flashbacks to their younger selves.

Rosie and Tanya, played by Julie Walters and Christine Baranski, are as comical as ever in the popular sequel.

The music makes the film, with Abba tracks from Knowing Me Knowing You (Aha!) to Dancing Queen sung by the cast.

A great film and a pleasant experience at Cineworld Basildon at the Festival Leisure Park. Was it as good as the first film? I’m not sure, but I would definitely recommend watching it.
