£1.3m footbridge installed over busy A127 junction

A large new footbridge has been installed at Kent’s Elm’s Junction on the A127 in Southend On Sea. The bridge replaced the original one as it was demolished in 2016 to make way for the new one to be built. It features stairs and ramps to provide access for pushchair and wheelchair users who struggle to cross the busy junction.

Kent’s Elms Junction has also been widened to three lanes on the A127 to improve traffic flow on the busy stretch of road.
