Thurrock GCSE Results 2012 Triumph

The local statistics for Thurrock schools have been published, and despite national results falling for the first time in 23 years, Thurrock’s youths have achieved some of their best results.

The Harris Academy in Chafford Hundred recorded impressive results, with 85% of pupils achieving at least five GCSEs at A* to C, including English and Maths.

Gable Hall received its best ever results, with 70% of pupils receiving at least five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Another school which also achieved its best ever results is Hassenbrook Academy in Standford-Le-Hope. 65% of pupils getting at least five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

St Clere’s School, a specialist science college, achieved results 23% above the national target. 63% of pupils attained at least five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Ormiston Park Academy, located in South Ockendon, managed to achieve its best results ever, meeting the national target. 40% of pupils achieved at least five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Basildon Upper Academy has improved its GCSE pass rate by 12%, with 45% of pupils achieving at least five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Grays Convent High School pupils’ results were still 10% above national average in both English and Maths. 63% of pupils achieved at least five A* to C passes including English and Maths.

The results highlight that despite the fall of GCSE results nationally, the youth of Thurrock are ambitious and wanting to secure a strong future for themselves. Congratulation to everybody who has received their GCSE results!
