Witness appeal after pedestrian dies in fatal road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash at Brentwood.

A pedestrian died following a collision with a van at Kings Road, outside Brentwood railway station, at 5.57am on Thursday, December 6.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s and from the Brentwood area, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Queens Hospital, Romford.

The road was closed and is expected to remain shut until about 11am while police carry out an initial investigation.

The van driver, a man also in his 40s and from the Brentwood area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
