Woman sexually assaulted along Great Gregorie

Police are appealing for information by asking people living and working in Basildon to help them identify a man believed to have sexually assaulted a woman in the town.

The offence happened when the 23-year-old local woman was walking along Great Gregorie at 7am on Tuesday, May 28. She was approached from behind by a man who put his hand up her skirt before running off.

Investigating Officer, PC Neil Baldock, said: “It was an unusual assault and we would like to establish the man’s motive behind his actions. We’re still also appealing for anyone who was in the area on that Tuesday morning and saw this man running off to contact us.”

The man is described as white, aged between 20-40, approximately 5ft 3ins tall, has grey hair, pale skin and very dark eyes.
