Team GB is celebrating another medal. The equestrian team which includes the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips alongside Tina Cook, Nicola Wilson, William Fox-Pitt and Mary King has claimed a silver medal. They finished just behind Germany. At Eton Dorney the rowers keep doing us proud. Bill Lucas and Sam Townsend are into the final of the double sculls and we’ll have Team GB representives in the lightweight men’s four as well. King and Cook are both still challenging for medals in the individual competition.
Retailers have seen a drop in visitor numbers in London, as people avoid key shopping areas during the Olympics. 10 percent fewer people visited the West End and 7 percent fewer visited the East End last Friday and Saturday, compared with the same weekend last year. But Experian, which compiled the figures, says it’s a temporary dip, and shopper numbers are already showing signs of increasing.
