This Wednesday sees the 250th edition of Digital Blues on Gateway 97.8 being broadcast and I am celebrating!
But first I remember one of my favourite artists of all time, the late JJ Cale and then I look forward to this weekend’s Uckfield Blues & Roots Festival with tracks from Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion, David Migden & The Twisted Roots, The Elevators, Goldie Reed, Red Butler and the Spikedrivers. In the gig guide there are tracks from the Nigel Bagge Band and Ian Siegal & the Mississippi Mudbloods.
Then, in a bit of self indulgence, I have tracks from some more of my favourite CDs, most of which were received recently from Ruthie Foster, Heritage Blues Orchestra, Rob Herron & the Tea Pad Orchestra, Hugh Laurie (vox Gaby Moreno), Beth Hart, Janiva Magness, Cathy Lemons, Carolyn Fe Blues Collective, The Bluemasters feat Hazel Miller, Jerimiah Marques, No Sinner, Thorbjorn Risager & the Black Tornado, Royal Southern Brotherhood and Raoul & the Big Time with Curtis Salgado.
I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed playing the tracks!
