DIGITAL BLUES ON GATEWAY 97.8 – 3RD JULY 2013

3rd July 2013
Posted by Ashwyn Smyth

With Independence Day just around the corner, I am celebrating with our cousins across the water for the first hour or so of this week’s edition of the British Blues Awards nominated Digital Blues on Gateway 97.8.

I will rock your socks off with tracks from Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, George Thorogood & the Destroyers, Jimmy Thackery & the Drivers, Taj Mahal, Coco Montoya, John Mooney, Johnny Copeland with Albert Collins, Johnny Winter, Studebaker John & the Hawks, Elvin Bishop, Bo Diddley, Omar & the Howlers plus a track from the brand new CD from Dana Fuchs.

We remember the passing of Jim Morrison 42 years ago with a great track from the Doors plus there is a track from the new Sam Hare EP.

In the gig guide there are tracks from Simon McBride, Aynsley Lister (this month’s IBBA Album of the Month), the Cadillac Kings, the Daniel Smith Band and Split Whiskers. Then there are some crackers from Otis Grand, Bryan Lee, Buddy Guy, Robbie Hill & the Blue 62’s and Eddie Boyd.

Now that’s what I call Digital Blues!
