Despite it being 2020, women’s intimate health remains an awkward and taboo subject. Women actively avoid having conversations about such topics, leaving many misinformed when it comes to the key facts.

Today, new research by Always Discreet finds that nearly a quarter (23%) of women claim they don’t know the purpose of the pelvic floor muscle, with one in six (17%) saying they don’t even know where it is found and some (4%) even thinking it was in the inner thigh.

The study also finds that many women are unclear when it comes to how to take care of their pelvic floor, despite two thirds (67%) saying they have experienced bladder leaks at some stage, including a majority (64%) of 18 to 24-year olds.

Aston spoke to Ferne McCann, TV star to discuss the research and also encourage the nation’s women to get to know their bodies and shun the embarrassment.
