COVID pups abandoned by UK pet parents

Between the days 27th and 28th December there were over 100 calls made over puppy abandoment.

During that time there were shared concerns among organisations like Dogs Trust and RSPCA about pet owners who have adopted during lockdown but are failing to consider the long term implications of pet ownership.

Aston spoke to Kay O’Donnell, vice president of Waltham Petcare Science Institute to discuss the implication of how this unintended “side-effect” of COVID-19 is affecting families in the UK and how we can help reverse this worrying trend.
