Christmas has long been known as the time of the year when decadence and over-indulgence is the norm and, despite coronavirus, this year is unlikely to be different.
In fact, according to new research by Centrepoint, on average £127 per household is spent on festive food, rising to £171 if you live in London. This food however isn’t always put to good use, with over a fifth (22%) claiming they have cooked too much and thrown away the leftovers, and one in ten (10%) admitting they even binned unopened food.
To raise awareness of the thousands of homeless young people who do not know if they will get a meal at all this 25th December, leading youth homeless charity Centrepoint has released images depicting a
Christmas meal like no other.
Aston spoke to chef Aldo Zilli to discuss the plight facing the homeless this year.
