Woman Injured In Car Theft

Police are appealing for information after a woman was seriously injured this afternoon, 30th January, when a man stole her car.

At around 2.30pm this afternoon a man stopped a vehicle in Curling Tye, Basildon, claiming there was something in the road. The female driver, from Basildon, got out of her grey Honda CR-V estate car to have a look, when the man jumped in to the driver’s seat and drove off with the woman clinging to the vehicle.

The woman was thrown from the car and is currently at Basildon Hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect is described as wearing a dark hooded top and dark bottoms.

Any witnesses who have not contact police already are asked to contact detectives at Basildon police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
