Did you witness hate crime on Whitmore Way?

A man who racially abused a sales assistant in Basildon is being sought after, with police hoping the release of CCTV will lead to his arrest.

The crime happened inside and outside Premier Stores on Whitmore Way shortly after 1pm on Thursday, May 24.

Investigating Officer, Pc Steve Bowler, said: “The man is described as white, in his early 60s, approximately 6ft 2ins tall and of medium-large build.”

Anyone with information in connection with this hate crime is urged to contact investigating officers at Basildon police station on 101.
