Detectives investigating the deaths of two people at a property in Pitsea View Road, Crays Hill can confirm that Maureen Tyler, aged 79, has now been formally identified.

The family of Mark and Maureen have issued photographs of them and these are the families’ preferred choice. They have also issued the following tribute:

“Maureen Tyler was a much loved member of her family. She was born in London and lived most of her life in the Billericay area. Though now retired, she had various jobs during her working life including working in the local village shop at Crays Hill.”

She met her partner Michael Tyler and they went on to have two sons together. Michael died in 2011. She also has an older daughter who lives abroad.

“She was a loving caring person who always saw the best in people. She cared deeply about the family and was well respected in her local community and at her local church.”

“Mark was a loving brother and father, who will be sorely missed.”

They added: “What happened is a double tragedy. The loss of both Maureen and Mark will affect everyone’s lives.”
