Renowned storyteller returns to Basildon

Celebrated musician, author, poet, comedian and storyteller Richard Digance makes a welcome return to Basildon this January, bringing his unique one man show to the Towngate Theatre.

From supporting the like of Steve Martin and Robin Williams, to dueting with Brian May and Roy Orbison, Richard Digance has enjoyed a unique and varied career.

An accomplished musician and songwriter he is regarded as one of Britain’s greatest acoustic guitarists. and was not only BAFTA nominated for his TV work but also received the Gold Award from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters in 2003.

Now following a break he returns to the stage with his latest one man show and promises a night of music and comedy at its very best.

Theatre Manager Graham Sandford said: “Richard is one of the most unique artists in the country and is a true national treasure. His show is very simple, with just him and his guitar, but it really shows him at his best and we are delighted to be welcoming him to Basildon.”
