Reviewers on Trip Advisor have collectively nominated Hilton’s Fish Bar at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Basildon as the best eatery in town.

Customers have placed it ahead of 103 other restaurants, the family-run venue being renowned among its clientele for the quality of its fish and chips plus the rest of its extensive menu, together with top service. In addition to the Trip Advisor reviews, in December 2014, Hilton’s was awarded a Blue Ribbon accreditation from the Good Food Guide for food quality, service and value for money.

Proprietor Mick Hilton said: “We go out of our way to provide the best possible food and service for customers, and it is great for the team here to be acknowledged in this way for all their hard work and devotion to duty.
