The UK is the unpaid overtime capital of Europe. Employees here are giving away an average of £5,038 of their time every year, according to ADP’s new Workforce View in Europe 2019 report. Across the working population, this equates to £3.2bn a week or £164.8bn a year in free labour.
The survey of more than 10,000 working adults across Europe – including 1,400 in the UK – is an annual study exploring the issues that employees face in the workplace.
Aston spoke to managing director Jeff Phipps and HR director Annabel Jones from ADP UK about the research.
