Regular listeners to my show will know that my seven year old son Nathan accompanies most weeks into the studio, but is very rarely heard on air, save for the odd tapping on the laptop keyboard while he watches something on the BBC i-Player or the sound of a squeaky colouring pen as he furiously knocks up another flag of the world ! However, I had an extra visitor this week in the form of my 14 year old nephew – and not to be outdone by one another they decided they both wanted to get behind the mic and “have a go”. As you can see from elsewhere on our website, Gateway is extremely active with the young schoolkids and college students around the area, welcoming groups and individuals in regularly for an insight or even full training in the ways of radio, so I was hardly going to say no !
