It was quite ironic that this week’s show was probably the most hurriedly put together one I’ve done for ages, due to Bank Holiday weekend commitments and time restrictions, and yet I had a number of really positive comments about it !! I always try and put together a good varied selection of soul tunes from across the 70s & 80s and beyond, with some funkier and jazzy touches thrown in for good measure, but luckily this time they all fell into place nicely, despite being prepared in a rush !
If you’ve not tuned in for a while (maybe even never!) why not take a listen to the repeat play this Saturday at 5pm and hear for yourself what people were getting enthusiastic about – the show’s playlist is posted below. Also, talking of repeats, I am unable to be live in the studio this Monday, so the next show on 8th May will be a pre-recorded one featuring the likes of Chic, Gwen McCrae, D Train and Aretha Franklin.
